As a midwife, I will always be mesmerised by the beauty of new parenthood. There is no sugar coating the experience, it is raw, it is momentous and it is worth documenting. Newborn's grow before your eyes which is why I like to get in there within the first couple of weeks to capture those tiny little details you never want to forget. The fluffy hair, the soft downy skin, wrinkly fingers and forehead frown.
My sessions are child led, slow and relaxed. I will follow the lead of your family and I am happy to document you as you are, no fuss and no frills. I set aside plenty of time to allow for frequent interruptions and there is no need to feel like you are 'on show' or on a strict time limit. I want you to have photos that truly reflect what it was like to experience these early days, authentic and real.

Did you know I include a 1-4 minute video of your session? I believe that video can really enhance your memory of this time (and let's be real, not many of us remember the little details). For me, this time is a haze and a huge learning curve, minute to minute I am thinking of what my little ones need from me and anticipating what they need next. Recovering from birth, sleep deprivation and learning a whole new human is both magical and turbulent. What I want to give to you is a lasting reminder of the magical parts of these days. They can be as real and raw as you want it to be, or you can hire someone for hair and make up so you feel your absolute best. I really don't mind what style you want to bring to the table, as long at is uniquely YOU. These photos are yours to keep forever and I want you to enjoy them for a lifetime.
I am passionate about helping families see the beauty in their newborn days and video is the cherry on top. These videos are simple and nostalgic and I am excited to share this one with you here:
A note on newborn skin correction: my edit is complimentary to all skin tones, including newborns. However, I don't remove large amounts of acne. I am able to remove the odd distracting pimple but a face covered in spots is beyond my skillset. I do understand that some people may want to remove newborn acne and I am happy to outsource this for you at $5 per image.

FAQ
When should I book my session?
As soon as you can! I book out months in advance so please don't wait until the birth of your baby to contact me. We can plan things and change dates if need be but don't hesitate on booking me in. Newborn sessions generally take place within the first 10 days of life but can be done within the first 3 months.
What do I need to do to prepare?
Not much! I can talk through styling advice with you beforehand so don't worry about outfits too much. I have shown up to sessions where the mother was still in the shower and another session where they were still in bed. I am more about capturing the raw and real newborn days but I am happy to help you by answering any questions you might have leading up to your session.
Do you provide outfits?
I have some beautiful robes for mum and I have lots of neutral coloured blankets for bub. I have some neutral coloured outfits that baby can wear that photograph beautifully. Otherwise all outfits are provided by you.
What if my baby needs to feed?
On the day that you have your newborn photos I only book 2 sessions MAX. I allow enough time to allow for feeding and settling. I also love documenting these special moments so don't worry if bub is unsettled.
When will I receive my photos?
My turn around is usually within a week but please allow up to 3 weeks to receive your gallery.
