If you are reading this you have probably seen some of my work and are wondering how you can get your birth captured by me. This page contains all the information you need to know and maybe even some gentle rambles about how amazing you are growing this baby and bringing them into the world.
I have been a midwife since 2015 and during this time I have witnessed women bringing their baby's into the world over and over again. During this time I have also had three children of my own so I can vouch for what a life changing experience child birth is. After the birth of my second I bit the bullet and bought myself a big girl camera and within a couple of weeks I travelled to Newcastle to do mentoring with the amazing Kate Kennedy birth photography. A safe and positive birth experience has been my passion for years and the moment that I bought my camera I knew that's what direction I wanted to keep going in. I want to give you those tender raw photos of moments that you might otherwise miss.
I have a fly on the wall approach and most people don't even realise I am taking the photos. I am very good at making you feel at ease with my presence and I have years of expertise in the birth world so I am very good at reading a room. This experience is based on you and your preferences and I am happy to meet you in person prior to booking so that you feel completely at ease.

What's included:
I will be on call for your birth from 37 weeks.
Full coverage of labour/birth/postpartum (this can include me coming and going as the labour progresses).
Approximately 150 high resolution images presented to you on an online gallery for you to print share and download.
A 2-7 minute video of your labour, birth and immediate postpartum presented in a password protected link.
A $850 deposit is required to secure the date

FAQ
What is your background?
I am a midwife with 7 years of experience in birth. I have done mentoring with Kate Kennedy birth photography. Birth has always been a passion of mine and to witness and document new life is my life's calling. I started my photography business in 2020 and I have lots of experience in dealing with difficult lighting situations.
What if you miss the birth?
If for any reason I am unable to make your birth, I am excited to be able to still offer:
- 3 x shoots of your choice within the first year of life- (e.g. newborn, six months and one year old)
- fine art soft mount album of the above three shoots as a family heirloom
What if you are called to the birth and the baby is born before you arrive?
In this case, the same offerings as above apply. I would still come and document the immediate postpartum and then come back and do a newborn session.
Is the camera distracting?
Naturally, when anyone interrupts a birth space you will find that your labour slows a bit. I don't take photos as soon as I arrive unless your baby is crowning, I wait for things to settle again and for you to adjust to my arrival. I use a silent shutter where I can.
I am having a home birth, do you photograph them?
YES! A thousand times yes. I love capturing all kinds of births.
I am having an elective caesarean, do you photograph them?
YES. All you need to do is get the ok from the hospital and I will be there! I can help you through this process.
